    Description

    TITLE:
Sascha Brastoff''s "Tree of Life" Ceramic Sculpture C. 1947 (Exceedingly Rare and Desirable!)
One of only 3 known to have been created. An investment piece for sure.
~Back in the summer of 1992, I first encountered the wonderful world of
    Sascha Brastoff
when I met his longtime friends Bill Seay and DeWayne "Dee" Bethany. I was completely unfamiliar with the man, his life's work, and legacy. By the next summer, I was organizing materials from the artist's West Los Angeles home and researching the basis that became the foundation for our 1995 Collector Book
"Collector's Encyclopedia of Sascha Brastoff". Over the past (3) decades, I've seen, reviewed, examined, appraised, bought and sold thousands of examples of his work. Now, I'm hoping to share some of my most interesting examples as I part out select pieces, starting with this fabulous original ceramic "Tree of Life". I've only ever encountered (3) of these (including Bill Seay's seen in Plate 366 on page 201 of the book). Each was created in the latter 1940s (circa 1947/'48). Mine is finished in a combo of high-glaze and matte finish silver leaf with a textured sandy-pebbly touch. Unsigned. Print and save this listing as a COA.
Local pick-up only. I will not be responsible for shipping this rare museum piece.
I'm happy to answer questions BEFORE purchase (NO RETURNS). Specific photo requests will be furnished as soon as possible.
Overall, the piece measures approximately 23 inches in height, 14.5 inches at its widest front as viewed from side to side, and 5 inches deep. It's in very good condition and has had some minor restorative touch-up to retain its original magnitude.
    Thanks for looking!
